Getting Started

  1. Set up your profile — Go to Profile and fill in your name, contact info, and skills.
  2. Upload a resume — Go to Resumes and upload a PDF or Word document.
  3. Create a cover letter — Go to Cover Letters → Create, select your resume, paste the job description, optionally choose a tone and keywords, and click Generate.
  4. Refine if needed — Use the Refine button to give feedback and improve the letter, or Regenerate for a fresh version.
  5. Download or share — Download as PDF/DOCX, print, or create an Application Page to share with hiring managers.

We accept PDF and Word (.doc, .docx) files. The text is automatically extracted so our AI can match your experience to job descriptions.

Adding skills to your Profile helps the AI weave relevant keywords into your cover letters. Enter them as a comma-separated list (e.g., "Python, Project Management, Data Analysis"). Skills from your resume are also used automatically.

Cover Letters

Our AI reads your resume, profile, and skills, then analyzes the job description to identify key requirements. It writes a tailored cover letter that highlights your most relevant experience and qualifications for that specific position. Each cover letter is unique.

Smart Generation gives you fine-grained control over how your cover letter is written:
  • Tone Selection — Choose a writing tone (Professional, Enthusiastic, Conversational, Formal, or Creative) that matches the company culture and role.
  • Keyword Emphasis — Click "Extract from Job Posting" to auto-detect important keywords, or add your own. The AI will weave these terms into your letter naturally, improving ATS (Applicant Tracking System) compatibility.
  • Refine — After your letter is generated, use the Refine button to give the AI specific feedback (e.g., "emphasize my leadership experience more" or "make it shorter"). The AI will revise the letter while keeping the original context.
  • Regenerate — Start fresh with a completely new cover letter for the same job description using the Regenerate button.

Yes! After generation, click Edit to modify any part of the cover letter. You can adjust wording, add details, or change the tone. The generated letter is a strong starting point that you can personalize.

  • Draft — Work in progress, still being edited.
  • Final — Ready to send to employers.
  • Archived — No longer active but kept for reference.
Use the "Mark as Sent" feature to track which applications you've submitted.

From any cover letter's detail page, you can:
  • Download PDF — A clean, formatted PDF ready for email attachments or online applications.
  • Download DOCX — A Word document you can further customize in Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
  • Print — A printer-friendly view opens in a new tab for direct printing.

Resumes

We accept PDF and Word (.doc, .docx) files. The text is automatically extracted so our AI can match your experience to job descriptions.

Free accounts include 1 resume upload. Paid subscribers can upload unlimited resumes. This lets you maintain different versions tailored for different industries or roles. You can set a default resume or choose a specific one when generating each cover letter.

Yes! On any resume page, click Suggest Edits to have the AI analyze your resume against a job description and provide specific improvement recommendations. You can then apply the suggestions directly or review them first. This is a paid feature.

Portfolio & Application Pages

A public portfolio page is like a mini professional website. It showcases your bio, skills, awards, endorsements, and social links at a shareable URL. It does not include private information like your address, phone number, or resume. Great for networking and LinkedIn profiles.

An application page is a private, token-protected page you share with specific hiring managers. It can include your cover letter, resume download, references, and full contact details. Only people with the unique URL can access it. Available for paid subscribers.

When creating or editing a portfolio page, click the "Generate Bio with AI" button next to the bio field. Choose to generate from your resume, a specific cover letter, or both. The AI will craft a professional summary tailored for your portfolio.

References

Go to References and click Add Reference. Enter each reference's name, title, company, phone, and email. You can also add a brief note about your working relationship.

References can be included on your Application Pages (private portfolio pages shared with hiring managers). They are not shown on public portfolio pages. You can also generate a recommendation letter for each reference using AI.

Templates

The Template Library provides professionally written cover letter examples for different industries and job types. Browse them for inspiration or download as PDF/DOCX to use as a starting point. Templates are freely available to all users.

Templates serve as reference examples. When you generate a cover letter with AI, it creates a fully custom letter based on your resume and the job description, which typically produces better results than starting from a template. However, you can review templates for tone and structure ideas before generating.

Try Free (Guest)
